The Sri Lanka Sports Medicine Association was establish in 1992. The Association is a non-profit, non-commercial and non-political base scientific organization of Sports Medicine in Sri Lanka, following the statute of the International Federation of Sports Medicine and the principles of the International Olympic Committee.

Sri Lanka Sports Medicine Association (SLSMA) is affiliated to the Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM) and the International Federation of Sports Medicine.
